Example of my installation from my Extended Major Project at Arts University Bournemouth. This piece was created as an exploration of space and narrative. Through 3D projection, I presented different locations that invited the audience to engage with the narrative behind each piece. Below shows my exploratory process leading up to the final outcome of this project.
Virtual Florist was a collaborative exhibition with a fellow student who was exploring botanical forms through AI imagery. Our projects had synergy and as a result we came up with the concept of a virtual florist. I used this exhibition as an opportunity to trial projection through an acrylic installation. Concluding that the prism was the most effective presentation of the subject; seen on the stand in the video above.
During my EMP I experimented with multiple forms of projection. The installation seen above is comprised of two light boxes in the studio. Despite this form or presentation (dissecting the subject through a layered background), it wasn't effective in conjunction with my project due to the additional element. However, I still find myself drawn to this part of my project and may continue it in another part of my practice in the future.
This is an image of the subject from Virtual florist. A 3D render of decomposing flowers.
